When stating that this is the BEST EVER anything you set yourself up for a lot of feedback which is fine but after years of making it one way and then trying to make stroganoff this way...I will NeVeR go back to that old way again....sorry Mini Meringue Payton. My sister has used this recipe for years and has told me to try it a million and two times and always being the little sister I was firm in NOT trying it. ") Well a few things sparked my interest to try this recipe, #1 -I recently became re-employed and work full time and this recipe is made in the crockpot. Crockpot cooking is something I am not typically accustomed to but now that I've tried it once it has knocked my socks off and I think why have I not jumped on this crockpot magic cooking wagon before!!! Plus I'm limited on time before dinner is to be served and I have to find a new way to work my magic in providing a five star meal for my family. #2 - we had most of the ingredients on hand which is always a plus! This was soooo good that we all loved it. Mini Meringue Avery who is Miss "no sauce" loved the gravy...two helpings worth of love that night and then again for leftovers. If I didn't already hail it as the best ever I sure could as magic dinner! No complaints from anyone, clean plate club award to all and the family cleaned the table afterwards too, how much better can it get!

Best Ever Stroganoff
2 pounds stew meat
1 large onion, chopped
1 can golden mushroom soup
1 can cream of onion soup
1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
1/4 teaspoon of pepper, if prefered
Place above ingredients in crockpot, mix well and cover. Cook on low for 8 hours, beef will be very tender. Then add the following:
8oz package cream cheese
8 oz sour cream
Stir together and let the cream cheese melt. Just enough time to peel potatoes and boil them to serve this on! Hands down THE BEST recipe I have made in a while.
A photo will be up soon as my sister is making this tonight and will provide me with a photo as we were all starving vultures when ours was served. Like who could think of a camera when this was on the table!!!! Enjoy!
A big THANK YOU to my sister for this recipe, the great times we always have and for being the best!
You're welcome! I'm glad you are in love with the crock pot as much as I am!
